Contests are the single most important mechanic of Spire. Without contests, and the submissions and the winners which go along with them, Spire would be nothing.

All content (aside from Genesis texts) which are created in a Spire is the result of contests. These contests run to decide which versions of a story element (either a chapter or an echo) are the official, recognised version.
All actions in each contest are done on the blockchain and are immutable, and all associated media is automatically uploaded (permanently) to Arweave.
In each contest, members of the community will be invited to submit their take on what the story element should look like. Contests are open-door and only require the staking of a T-5 Treasure Token to partake in (this is returned if the entry is not selected as the winner).
Contest entries will first be whittled down by the team into what can be considered finalists, before a winner is selected by the team.
Contests run for a minimum of 7 days and will remain open until at least 8 entries have been approved by the team Spire Partner Project (e.g. the Realm team), which are then made public. The criteria for approvals is done on a project-by-project basis, but generally need to adhere to the principles of each specific project or the Artist Credo. Finally, a winner will be selected, and the ERC1155 tokens associated with the winning entry will be automatically minted and distributed between the creator (75) and the SpireDAO (25).
